Orthodontic emergencies are very, very few and far between. It's gotten to be less and less and less, which is sort of nice for me and my weekends. On the other hand, if somebody has a bonafide problem, I'm available. Number 1, we have an answering phone in the office. If somebody has one during the week, they can come in during the week, we'll fit them in somehow to take care of their problem.

If it's after hours, I ask people to give me a text, because it's easier for me to answer a text than it is to stop and answer the phone and keep driving and so forth. I've taken care of those. I'm on staff at 2 hospitals, so it's not a problem to get to a hospital if they have a problem. I've had patients that were mugged, I've had people in car accidents and things like that, diving board accidents and so forth, and so we take care of them, but nobody has to wait. It's a 1, 2, 3 thing, and if it happens after hours, I'm within 20 minutes of the office and would be happy to see ya.
